St George AFC reinvigorated the pre-season training camp concept with a three day event at the Racecourse Beach Tourist Park at Bawley Point near Ulladulla between 21 and 23 Feb 2020.
Coach Tony Quinn put together a great program combining some valuable team bonding events with a fairly taxing exercise and skills component thrown in. A Saturday training session on the home ground of the Ulladulla Dockers was made possible with the support of local Club President Kim Peat and both the men and womens squads were put through their paces by Coaches Quinny and Dion Zissis.
The early Sunday morning beach running and sprint session was a particular treat for all attendees, with the sea air and sand clearing a number of weary foggy heads. All players were unanimous in their praise and enjoyment of the camp and a special cheer goes out to the eight new players to St George who got on board.
Best of all we got to throw our support behind several local businesses doing it tough after the recent horror bush fire season. Well done to all who attended what we hope will once again become a regular fixture on the St George calendar.
